BioAcademically I'm an anthropologist. Since I'm also a Nihongophile I took several course about Japanese culture. I'm sad to say that part of the reason I took the courses was so that I could better understand the mindset that goes into making anime and manga. I have not as yet studied the language enough to be able to speak Japanese, though I did take a class on the linguistic components of the language. In short I'm just *bit* obsessed with Japanese culture, but then many of us here are.
